AAA – Miami Gasoline Prices Increase for 31 Consecutive Days

Residents in Miami Valley are feeling the pain at the pump as the current gasoline prices in the area reflect an increase for 31 consecutive days, said the American Automobile Association (AAA).

In Dayton, the average gasoline price today is $3.77 per gallon, according to public price tracking statistics. At the national level, the average price of gasoline is $3.69 per gallon.

Some of the areas in Miamisburg are selling gasoline for $3.77 per gallon after making an overnight increase. In Dayton, regular gasoline also posted an overnight rise to reach $3.79 per gallon.

According to experts, four percent of an individual’s income is currently spent on filling up their gas tanks. For those who need to drive, more expensive gas means allocating money from other budgeted needs.

When the economy is struggling to recover, more expensive commodities can keep the country’s recovery off track, according to economist Alan Gin.

Because of the difficult times, there are several research studies that suggest some ways for individuals and families to be able to maximize the value of what they spent for in gasoline.

Here are some of the suggestions of the Energy Department of the United States: First is to drive more efficiently by avoiding quick acceleration that can waste gasoline. Second is to make sure one’s car is in good condition. Third is to plan and take road trips together, because carpooling can stretch the amount of gasoline in one’s most recent fill up. Lastly, the DOE suggests drivers pick a vehicle that is more fuel-efficient.
